Marquette City Commissioner Sara Cambensy filed today to run for 109th District State House Representative.
She’s running against John Kivela, a two-term representative and former mayor of Marquette.
Cambensy and Kivela are both running as Democrats. The winner will be decided in the August 2 Primary election, and will face–as of now–Republican Kevin Pfister from Manistique.
If re-elected, this would be Kivela’s final term in the state House due to term limits.
The deadline to file to run for office is tomorrow.
