UP Health System-Marquette CEO and UP Health System Market President Brian Sinotte announced in a letter emailed out Thursday morning that he will be stepping down in June.
According to the email, Sinotte accepted a new position in Chicago. There will be an interim leader elected in the intermediate while the search for a new UP market president and Marquette CEO is underway.
“I have some difficult news to share today. In June, I will be stepping down from my roles at UPHS and relocating to Chicago, where I have accepted a new position.
The decision to leave the UP was a very difficult one for Jess and me, but we think it is the right choice for us right now. I will be here until June 21 to see the team at Marquette through the move to their new hospital and manage some of the changes that will bring. I also want to ensure that there is an adequate transition period between me and the interim leader, who will be brought in while the search for a new UP market president and Marquette CEO is underway.
I cannot express to you all how honored I have been to be part of this team the last three years. UPHS represents some of the best hospitals I’ve had the privilege to serve, and you all are one of the hardest working and most dedicated groups of employees, physicians and volunteers I’ve ever encountered.
In the time that I have been in the UP, I have seen tremendous change and improvement across our facilities. I’m so proud of all we have accomplished together, and I’m so delighted about the positive path forward we have forged.
I have no doubt that UPHS will continue to thrive long after my departure. You truly are a special team, and with the continued support of LifePoint Health and Duke LifePoint, I know you will thrive into the future. You have a genuine commitment to advancing the heath of your communities, and I look forward to seeing what’s to come for each of you.
So, thank you all. I will forever value my time here with each of you.
Jamie Carter and Victor Giovanetti will be in touch with everyone soon with some details on the transition process and candidate search. Meantime, please feel free to reach out to me or your manager with any questions or concerns.
Brian Sinotte”
